Cancellation Policy:

We are sorry that we cannot issue refunds for classes, but you may send someone in your place or choose another class if you cannot make it for any reason.

We do require at least 24 hours notice for us to provide credit for another class, otherwise we are left with an empty spot and not enough time to refill if off the waiting list.

How to Shop at the Farmers' Market (Tour & Cooking Class)

If you have ever felt overwhelmed at the farmers' market by all the choices and unfamiliar produce and products, this is the class for you.

Let Chef-Instructor John Scoff guide you through the farm stalls of NYC's Union Square Greenmarket and help demystify what is available. Learn what is most important to fill your shopping bags with this season and why (one secret: fresh eggs...vastly superior to the supermarket variety and she'll explain the difference).

With only a loose menu in mind, John will encourage the students to select the ingredients they are unfamiliar with and want to learn how to cook. After an hour of shopping and tasting, we'll head back to HCNY's cooking school at 158 Grand Street, Studio 206 to cook a huge seasonal feast to enjoy together.

A ROUGH MENU:

Local Fish with A Seasonal Vegetable Relish
(if you don't eat fish, let us know and we can substitute another protein)

A Green Vegetable Side Dish

Seasonal Fruit Crisp with Creme Fraiche
