Italian Food Tasting Tour of Arthur Avenue

Join roving gourmand John Scoff for a tour of the Arthur Avenue neighborhood in the Bronx. Settled by Italian immigrants in the early party of the 19th century, they set about creating a small village of shops and services that were familiar to them in Italy. Today, Arthur Avenue is teaming with high-quality butcher shops, cheese makers, seafood markets, bakeries, pasta stores, restaurants and produce markets.  Generations of Italians still live, work and shop in this vital neighborhood. And for those who moved away, they still return for the essentials that aren’t available to them in city or the surrounding suburbs.

Join John for a sampling of the neighborhood's best bites: olive bread, prosciutto bread, the best fresh mozzarella knots this side of Italy, clams on the half shell, cured meats, fresh-filled cannolis (never buy them pre-filled!).

You'll leave with a full stomach and a packet of information so you can return again and again to this truly authentic Little Italy.

There is no better way to spend a Saturday morning!
