The tour is rain or shine, so please make sure to pack an umbrella if the weather looks iffy!

All food samples are included in the price of the tour and we book a maximum of 15 people.

We ask for at least 48 hours cancellation notice in order to provide credit for another tour or class. Otherwise we are left with an empty spot and not enough time to refill if off the waiting list.

Tasting Tour of Chinatown

Manhattan's Chinatown is full of edible treasures that are hidden from the beaten path. Join us as we take a tasting tour of NYC's most jam-packed neighborhood for discovering delicious foods.

Chef-Instructor and roving gourmand John Scoff knows his way around these streets and he wants to share what he's learned from countless dim sum trips and ingredient expeditions to track down Thai eggplant and dragon fruit and some of the city's best beef jerky (really!). In addition, you'll learn how to properly eat a soup dumpling, where to find hand-pulled noodles and the best black sesame ice cream, and how to decode all the vegetable and fish stands that line the streets. In addition to sampling foods all along the way (note: come hungry!), we will break mid-way for a sit-down dim sum sampling, so we are not on our feet all afternoon.

The tour will begin and end at Kam Man Foods so you have a chance to pick up a few well-priced pieces of Asian cooking equipment and ingredients before heading back to the subway.
