Cancellation Policy (PLEASE READ):

We have a firm 48-hour cancellation policy to ensure that we have enough time to re-fill your seat with another student. For cancellations prior to the 48-hour mark, we are happy to offer credit for a future class.

While it is not in our nature to say no, we are not able to offer credit for last-minute illnesses or work-related conflicts. However, you are always welcome to send someone in your place, because we understand these things do happen.

How to Shop at the Farmers' Market (Tour & Cooking Class)

If you have ever felt overwhelmed at the farmers' market by all the choices and unfamiliar produce and products, this is the class for you.

Let Chef-Instructor Erica Wides guide you through the farm stalls of NYC's Union Square Greenmarket and help demystify what is available. Learn what is most important to fill your shopping bags with this season and why (one secret: fresh eggs...vastly superior to the supermarket variety and she'll explain the difference).

With only a loose menu in mind, the chef will encourage the students to select the ingredients they are unfamiliar with and want to learn how to cook. After an hour of shopping and tasting, we'll head back to HCNY's cooking school at 158 Grand Street, Studio 206 to cook a huge seasonal feast to enjoy together.

A ROUGH MENU:

Local Fish with A Seasonal Vegetable Relish
(if you don't eat fish, let us know and we can substitute another protein)

A Green Vegetable Side Dish

Seasonal Fruit Crisp with Creme Fraiche
